An excellent example of the highly collectableUniversal Geneve Polerouter.

Designed by the legendary Gerald Genta in 1954 at the age of just 23, the Polarouter was an instant success and remains a highly sought-after watch to this day.

Originally introduced as the "Polarouter" watch, the watch was renamed to "Polerouter" and fitted with the famous calibre 215 "Microtor". Several other Polerouter models followed over the next twelve years, including versions with different casing-designs and dials. Personally we're a fan of the version found here which we believe to be the most iconic of the bunch!

To add some perspectiveto the positioning of this watch, in the late 1950's a steel Polerouter cost as much as a Rolex Explorer whilst a 18k gold version with a gold bracelet cost nearly the same price as a Volkswagen Beetle!

Likewise, if you haven't come acrossGerald Genta, he was the same chap thatwould go on tocreate the "Royal Oak" for Audemars Piguet, the "Nautilus" for Patek Philippe and many more iconic watches.

Whilst we've seen prices creeping up in the past few years (the last one we had sold within 2 minutes of us listing it!) we're just waiting for prices to sky rocket as people give this incredible watch the recognition it deserves.
