A stunning example of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 1500. Hailing from circa 1972, this Oyster Perpetual Date reference 1500 features a rare and highly collectible "Sigma" dial. Launched in 1962, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date reference 1500 was previously overshadowed by the larger 36mm Datejust. Today, however things are changing with people increasingly attracted to its clean lines and enduring elegance.

The watch is powered by the well respected calibre 1570 automatic movement which was in use right through to the late 1980's.

This particular watch benefits from a "Sigma" dial, referencing the " T SWISS T " which can be found at the base of the dial. The "" being the Sigma sign which was used by the Swiss watch industry to indicate that a watch's hour markers and hands were made of gold, and in doing so emphasising the inherent value of the metal.

Condition Report:

Presented in excellent overall condition. The rare, "Sigma" dial remains in excellent condition as do the hands, both of which have taken on a gorgeous colour in their respective lume plots. The case also remains very clean with only minor scratches present. The 78350 Oyster bracelet, likely a later replacement is tight and largely free from scratches. It will currently fit wrists upto 16cm but we can easily source and fit additional links at cost on request (circa 50 per link). Finally the 1570 movement has just received a comprehensive service.
